Homeowners staying put amid Brexit uncertainty…

Latest figures show little sign of a Spring bounce in the UK property market, with some potential buyers seemingly put off by Brexit uncertainty.

The number of property transactions remained below 90,000 for the second successive month in May, according to figures from HM Revenue and Customs.

Generally, at this time of year, there is a significant pick-up in sales. On a seasonally-adjusted basis, the total number of sales was at its lowest for three years in May.

Estate agents had hoped that the longer delay on the Brexit process may release some pent-up demand among buyers and sellers, but there is no evidence of that happening so far.
